Let's take a trip back to April - When sunny days were few, and the grass was still green.
The storms of life are a bit different. Why don't our faces light up when we see the rain?
Our comfort zones are a nice place to be. We enjoy the feeling of being "safe and sound". We like days with clear skies and easy decisions. It's not part of our human nature to enjoy hardships.
However, without the storms in our lives we wouldn't have to trust God. I'm sure that we would quickly grow complacent with our daily tasks. God allows trials and hardships in our lives to help us grow. For that reason, we should be thankful even when it is hard.
"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." James 1:2-3
Divers temptations describe trials that we all encounter. James tells us to "count" or consider our attitudes during trials. The idea here is to have inner joy in spite of external circumstances. God is still in control in the midst of a storm! He has the power to calm the raging sea with the sound of his voice.
"Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He bringeth them out of their distresses. He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still." Psalm 107:28-29
What should you do when it's raining? Put on your rain boots and praise God in the storm.
